Christine Hallauer: New ONE FC Ring Girl
Filipina-Aussie Christine Hallauer is the newest ring girl to grace the cage in between rounds of the ONE Fighting Championship Kings and Champions in Singapore this April 5.
The 24-year old is very proud of landing the gig and is looking forward to hoisting that placard all smiles for the estimated 12,000 fans watching the bouts. ”Being a ONE FC ring girl is the pinnacle of my modeling career.”
The April 5 event will hold the ONE FC Lightweight World Championship between fighters Kotetsu Boku and Shinya Aoki. Two Pinoys will also be fighting before the main event: Kevin Belingon vs. Australian Thanh Vu in a Bantamweight Gran Prix match and Rene Catalan vs. Brazilian Alex Silva in a Flyweight match.
Christine volunteered asap when ONE FC came calling for a new ring girl, not hesitating at all since they are the largest promotion in Asia. Before this, she was a student at Curtin University, taking up Human Resources and Industrial Relations, while also modeling on the side.
Her Filipino roots come from her mother Cecilia who’s originally from Davao and who’s very excited for her daughter’s new modeling job, since she knows ONE FC is a big deal. Her Swiss father Rudi though prefers to stay out of the way.
Hallauer is training and preparing for her time on the ring, and is also looking forward to the fight night later this year in the Philippines.
“ONE FC is returning to the Philippines later this year and I’m excited to be the ring girl in front of a Filipino crowd. It would be a dream come true. I hope to visit the city as well and know more about my mother’s culture. I have relatives in Manila and I’d love to visit them.”
Watching previous ONE FC matches has made her very interested and keen on trying out the sport herself. Will we see this lovely girl fighting Ronda Rousey soon? That’d certainly be a feast for the eyes.
